This is our main activity within the club. Throughout the year we have Sunday morning spins starting (usually) from Thurles Co-Op at 9am or 10am.

As the evenings get longer, we add Tuesday and Thursday evening spins to this, starting from other local points such as The Ragg or Upperchurch village itself.

Since 2014, a growing number of club members have been taking part in Cyclocross events over the winter months. This is an enjoyable way to stay active over the winter months and with more and more events taking place in the region, it is now easily accessible too.

As winter rolls in we replace the midweek evening spins with indoor training on a Thursday night in Upperchurch Community Hall.

These are professionally guided classes, where you can bring your own bike and turbo trainer or use one of the spinning bikes provided. Classes start at 8pm sharp so be sure to arrive about 7.45pm to allow time to setup. Be sure to bring a towel!

Keep an eye on the news and events page and our Facebook page for when the classes are starting.

During the course of the year, the club organise a few mountain biking trips for its members. This is usually a day trip to Ballyhoura Mountain Biking Park in Limerick. Bikes can be hired on the day so no need to have your own mountain bike for this.

Each year the club organises a Club Weekend away. This usually consists of a cycle and some socialising afterwards.

National Bike Week  is a celebration and promotion of all that’s great about bikes and cycling. Held over a week in June of each year with bike themed events organised by local authorities, community groups and cycling groups throughout Ireland.

UDCC participates in this each year and arrange a leisure cycle open to everyone in the community for a relaxed enjoyable cycle.
